Tales of the Greek Heroes
is a collection of ancient Greek myths written by Roger Lancelyn Green
with an introduction written by Rick Riordan. The book was originally
published in 1958 under the longer title, Tales of the Greek
Heroes: Retold From the Ancient Authors (without Rick Riordan's
introduction), and has been in print since.
In his introduction, Rick Riordan mentions
that this book was one of his first introductions to Greek mythology when
he was a child, and that he probably wouldn't have written the Percy
Jackson series if he hadn't have read it.
